The distinctive rich flavour and aroma of Pure Mesquite is similar to chocolate, cinnamon, coconut and mocha coffee and is not found in any other flour product on the market. Our flour which is naturally sweet, containing about 40% sugar (sucrose) can either be used as a flour, a spice or a seasoning. Pure Mesquite flour is not only renowned for its delicious and distinctive flavour, it is a genuine superfood packed with lysine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, and dietary fibre. It is also low in fat and has higher anti-oxidant concentrations than wheat, corn, rice and potato flours.
Use Pure Mesquite as a spice or a flour! It goes great with BBQ marinades and meat dishes, in chocolate cakes and ice cream, and is delicious in regular or gluten-free baking. For baked goods, substitute around 10-15% of your normal flour with mesquite for enhanced flavour, sweetness, colour and aroma for a fantastic (and yummy) baking and tasting experience! If you are a bit of a purist you can mix in a tablespoon of mesquite into warm or cold milk for a delicious malty drink that is packed full of nutrition.
